Seeking an Indian actor (35-45) to play the role of a father in a festival bound 16mm short film
Synopsis
12 year old Steve lives with his dominant father who doesn't give much attention apart from when he complains about all the things that Steve does wrong. Almost everything seems to annoy him.
Steve spends most of his time alone. He likes to dress up in girl's clothes and put make up on his face, but he would never dare to tell his father.
Steve finds a pair of red shoes in a box. He tries them on and suddenly he starts dancing. He can't stop and sweeps over the floor in pirouettes and leaps until he finds himself in a forest full of all the characters from his favourite fairy tales. There is the Swan Princess, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldielocks and all the others! Looking closer at them he sees that they are all boys.
His feet keep moving and he feels free.
Captured by a peculiar sounds he keeps dancing into the overgrown parts of the forest. He stumbles over branches and through bushes and falls into the hands of a grim faced man swinging an axe to his feet to cut his shoes off!
Grasping for air he finds himself at home in his own bed. The door opens and in comes his father. He has the same face as the monster in the dream...
All participants will get a copy of the film. We are looking for an Indian actor for the father.
