Marsha

Females, aged 40 to 50 from Canada

Marsha, a classic 1940’s housewife, is peace loving and carries a quiet demeanor. She loves working in the garden, and providing a good meal for her family each evening. She blames her husband Sam for the loss of her oldest son, a sentiment which has taken a large toll on her emotional stability. The family she nurtured and built is the most important thing to her, and she will now do whatever it takes to protect what is left of them and their way of life.

Sam

Males, aged 45 to 60 from Canada

Sam is an average, blue-collar airplane factory worker. He is patriotic, yet emotionally frail and easily influenced by public opinion. As a younger man he avoided service during the Great War, and was consequently labeled a coward in his town. In his mind, the new war has given him the opportunity to atone for his cowardice, and to protect his sons from the same labeling fate. He is willing to sacrifice his sons for the good of the country, and to save face against those who perceive him as weak.

George

Males, aged 18 to 22 from Canada

George, the youngest son of Marsha and Sam, is a small and sheepish high school student. He was labeled a coward like his father, and is bullied at school because of it. He doesn’t want to fight in the war, but finds the pressure from his father and the taunting he receives from schoolmates intimidating. He used to receive protection from his older and more charismatic brother David, but now is alone and has to fend for himself.
