3 actresses and 2 actors needed for the development and reading of a new play
Casting will be this Friday 29th April 2008 in the afternoon. Those who are chosen will perform on the 20th and 21st May 2008. Actors and actresses will not need to learn lines, the purpose of this is to develop the script.
Rehearsals will be held twice a week initially. This is unpaid work but there will be artistic directors and producers in the audience.
Character Descriptions

Angela (16-21) Main character whose life we follow. Our journey with her begins when she is 16 and ends when she is approximately 21/22. She is very level headed and mature for her age. She takes the burden of other’s pain especially that of her family. The audience has sympathy for this character. Her objective in life is to look after her mum and brother as well as make something of herself perhaps in the arts. Loves romance. Appearance wise, she is pretty but not beautiful. There is something about her.
Dominic (21-24) Angela’s love interest. Kind, sweet, and caring. A good listener. Wants to take the weight off Angela’s shoulders and be there for her. He recognises what Angela has done for her family and so wants to do the same for her. A good guy. His objective in life is to become a professional football coach.
Appearance: Good looking.
Mum (35-40) Her whole world falls apart when her husband dies as she has built up her life around him. Although it is questionable in the plot whether they really loved each other, they were very dependent on one and other. They had adapted their lives to the way they are now. So when her husband dies, she reacts badly. A very emotional woman with a big heart.
Matt (10) Cute younger better. Wise for his age. Very understanding. A sweet heart.
Pamela (16-21) Angela’s best friend who has been through thick and thin with Angela.
Please note: there is no reference to the ethnicity of the characters. Although Angela talks about her parents never meeting prior to getting married, it does not necessarily mean anything about her race.
