Seeking male and female actors ages 20-30 for a Theatre in Education project in Italy
Lingue Senza Frontiere is a non-profit organisation endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education.
The association promotes a student based teaching method in Italy to teach English to children through T.I.E. (Theatre in Education) and organise drama courses for teacher
Actors work in groups of three, touring Italian schools and presenting interactive English Language shows supported by workshops. Performances consist of sketches adapted for a particular age group focusing on a particular theme and grammatical point. The overall emphasis is on promoting spoken English in a fun and interactive way.
On average the job consists of working four hours a day in a school with travel afterwards which may include distances of 100km and upwards. Actors may be required to work Saturdays in certain areas. Lingue senza Frontiere provides a weekly cash salary, accommodation, car and petrol, and insurance. While on tour you will be responsible for light administration tasks and accounts for your group.
Knowledge of the Italian language is obviously useful, but it is not necessary to apply. For those interested, upon completion of the six month contract, there could be the opportunity to work for Summer Camps throughout Italy. As an actor you will have the opportunity to learn, observe and live the Italian culture and visit many areas and cities all over Italy. It is also possible to develop your knowledge of the Italian language in your spare time.
