"I've always been a dancer - of that I am quite sure! I used to bounce on daddy's knee - time signature 4/4"...completely true - I started dancing before I started walking, singing before I started speaking and acting before I started drama lessons. I've always been excellent at any sort of performing - by age 7 I was in a circus, competing in dance competitions and performing and singing in plays. At 18 I chickened out of auditioning for the major drama schools and got a 'real job' instead working with children with disabilities. If I had my time over again I would have ignored the advice that performing isn't a 'real' job and busked myself a living until I got into a decent uni or someone offered me a job...which is what I'm doing now...it's never too late right? My most recent performances have been with an Impro Theatre company and also performing in folk clubs singing and accompanying myself on keyboard, and I'm currently working on a production called 'Imperfectly Sane Too'
