Celebrated Filmmaker Athina Tsoulis of Ample Films is directing a new feature film, 'Stars In Her Eyes'.

Stars In Her Eyes is a romantic comedy that explores the trials of Anousha, an Indian New Zealander, as she looks for love while caring for her disabled mum.

“Our movie is about an Indian woman who is trying to come of age, albeit later than most. It is essentially an immigrant story which many will identify with,” said Athina. “There are not a lot of roles for Indian actors in New Zealand and there might be some really talented actors who have left the industry because of this. We are hoping to find some one really special for the lead role and give them a chance to shine. There are also many other Indian roles to fill as well.”

Athina confirmed she is looking for people of all different backgrounds for the film.

Shooting begins on October 15 with a national release planned for June 2013.
