This film is the final project in a 3 year Media (screen and sound) degree at UNSW. The short film is called "beachcombers" and follows the story of two beachcomber gangs who end up in a turf war as one of their beaches is dredged. The story follows a series of pay back murders and embodies the genre of typical australian crime genre, however there is a grindhouse feel to this film as it is quite old school and brutal. Despite this, the "beachcomber" culture adds an element of black comedy to the piece. We are looking to cast the gangs with young men between 17-25 years old who will be needed over 2-3 days of filming within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, we are working without a budget, and the work is unpaid but please consider the great experience an opportunity like this can provide - we will be happy to leave you with a dvd of the finished film for your personal portfolio.
