About the Project:

Fatland has been given the green light from Screen NSW for short film funding. It has been in the works for a few months, and we are excited to begin casting.

There will be a small amount payable in contract with our lead roles, with a negotiable payment for our supporting roles.

Please don't hesitate to apply for any of the roles, we might just like you!

About the Director:

Tessa Muskett is a 24 year old filmmaker from Sydney, with a background in visual arts and underground filmmaking. Her passion lies in exorcising her demons under the guise of entertainment, but not the family friendly kind. Her filmmaking experience includes the short film 'Share House Fantasy' and the feature 'Failures and Unknowns'. In the tradition of her previous work 'Fatland' is an irreverent comedy that takes place in an alternate reality, but tells a deeply honest human story.

About the Producer:

Sean O'Reilly is currently studying his Post-Graduate Diploma in Producing at AFTRS, and has been working as a freelance producer for two years. In the past two years Sean has produced two award-winning short films, "Peter", and "Help Me, Sir".

Donna

Required: need to be overweight.

Donna is confident, in her ideals and her sexual appeal. She dresses in a glamorous fashion and struts. She's an overpowering character, and domineers over her husband and daughter. She has their best intentions at heart and has no sense that there might be other ways to live than what the TV tells her. Relatively sunny and optimistic despite it all, like a Stepford wife.

Females, aged 37 to 55 from New South Wales, Australia

Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience

Mac

Required: need to be overweight.

Confident, mildly compassionate and friendly, he's sympathetic to Phoebe's plight but happy to be dragged along in his wife's sizable slipstream. He isn't a pushover though, and he is in a partnership with his wife.

Males, aged 37 to 58 from New South Wales, Australia

Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience

Host

Required: need to be overweight.

The host doesn't seem like she really wants to be there. It' just work for her. She's the old broad, at 30, who has been around the live music traps and seen it all before. She isn't mean so much as bored and annoyed. When she says 'looks like we have a disqualification' it's a statement of fact. All her lines are bored statements of facts, as though she's said it before many, many times. Physically, she dresses slutty cos she was a groupie in her heyday.

Females, aged 24 to 35 from New South Wales, Australia

Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience
