I am shooting two short films later this year with a film making team in America. I am currently producing a promotional kick-starter short film for each as a taster of what the films will be like. The first promo is complete and now I am working on the second for the film titled ANNIVERSARY NIGHT. The film is a dark thriller but should be a lot of fun and once finished will be screened for the team in America, which I can discuss further as the project takes place.

This promo campaign film is being produced by Aurora Pictures and directed by Award Winning Film Maker Russell Gomm. We aim to shoot the film as soon as possible. More information on the project will be available on request.

I have already cast the Male Lead role which just leaves the Female lead role. I need someone who can burn up the screen with both an intensity in acting and also an ability to be convincing in a fight scene. The role is a sort of femme fatale... If you think you have what it takes to bring this sexy and dangerous character to life please get in touch.

TESTIMONIALS:
Joe Lynch, Film Director 'Wrong Turn 2':

It's refreshing to meet a fellow filmmaker who speaks the language of pure cinema, knowing that huge explosions, gratuitous nudity and snappy one-liners do not an interesting piece of work make. Russ Gomm's 'Dark Roads' reminded me of the days when Michael Mann spoke to us in sleek, sharp (and many times silent) images that resonate on many levels like 'Thief' and 'Manhunter'. Gomm and partner Adam Modley work the audience into a suspenseful lather with their tale of love, loss and quiet revenge, told with nary a nick of dialogue, which makes for a powerful viewing experience since one can only rely on the expertly framed angles that don't adhere to ADD-addled quick cuts and a lush, haunting soundscape. The talented souls at Aurora Pictures have already solidified themselves as total craftsmen in a new media world, from the grimly accomplished 'Dark Roads' to their horror shorts 'Blood Relative' and 'Presence', and I'll be watching everything they do with anticipation. One can only imagine what they can do with the parameters of a feature film.

Mike Shaw, Film Critic:

Russ Gomm is one of the most exciting young filmmakers working in the country today. Unlike his peers, he has forsworn the cheap and easy 'anyone can do it' approach to filmmaking and tackles his projects like the auteurs of old. His short films feel like features just waiting to happen, and although his favoured genre is horror, he leaves the tomato sauce well alone and focuses on tension, character and suspense - immersing himself in every aspect of the worlds he's creating. It's only a matter of time before one of Russ Gomm's pictures is mesmerising audiences worldwide.
