Wife and mother, all Jules wants it to make Christmas special for her family and to impress her judgmental mother-in-law. As her husband’s actions become increasingly more erratic during the day, and having to handle her mother-in-law, she abandons trying to put on the perfect Christmas, and tries to survive the day with her dignity still in tact.

Sue is Graham’s single mother after his father left and is very protective over her only Son. What on the surface seems to be a distain for Jules, is a deep unhappiness, and an attempt to play mother again to her Grandson.

John is Graham and Jules’s neighbour. Generally unhappy about the way is is treated by the family, he knows all of the little secrets behind their seemly perfect existence.
