LIGHT ON THE FRINGE tells the story of Luke Ryan, a boy who attempts to find in friendship a refuge from his dark, violent home. Luke is a friendless boy, the son of an abusive father, Bruce, and a victimized mother, Eloise. After a coincidental and fateful meeting, Luke connects with a mysterious and tormented boy from next door. Luke overcomes not only his abusive father but also his insecurities in order to find friendship and solace with Michael, the boy next door. When Luke’s father discovers what he’s been up to, he crushes the boy’s spirit into submission.
