John Jameson Productions is a filmmaking group that aims at giving enthusiastic creative types the opportunity to make a film and also access to some of the best filmmaking advice and facilities.

The first initiative of the filmmaking group was a script writing competition launched @ Tropfest 2008. The idea was that anyone could submit a 200 word synopsis via a purpose built website. These synopsis’ were judged by a group of industry scriptwriters, and eight finalists were selected who then wrote a short film
script of three minutes. The final films scripts were then judged by an industry panel including, Jane Scott (Producer, Shine & Mao’s Last Dancer), Jan Sard (Writer, Shine & Mao’s Last Dancer) Russell Boyd (Academy award winning
Cinematographer – Master and Commander) Lisa Hensley (Actress and TV Movie reviewer), Pia Miranda (Award-winning actress) and Michael Cook (Executive Producer - The Feds Sydney)

From the 8 finalists 3 scripts were chosen by this panel to be made into 3 minute short films which will be produced by The Feds.

Please apply now for auditions or more information.

Location: New South Wales, Australia

Payment details: $250

Tommy - 23 year old university student

Males, aged 18 to 30 from New South Wales, Aus

Tommy Tomassino iis the dynamic one, the colourful one, the instigator. He’s not as good-looking as Mark, but he thinks he is. He also thinks he’s the leader of the group, which is his primary need in life, to feel in charge. Without it he feels rejected and mistrustful. He’s an outsider, a quirky, offbeat dude who would be interesting to hang out with if you weren’t afraid he’d follow you home. Mark is his best friend.

Mark - 23 year old university student

Males, aged 18 to 30 from New South Wales, Aus

Mark Gordon is the solid one, the stand up guy, the one with the scholarship, the part-time job, and the car. He’s bookish and good-looking in Clark Kent way. He shy around new people but always maintains a quiet selfconfidence.

Andrew Jabb - 23 year old university student

Males, aged 18 to 30 from New South Wales, Aus

Andrew Jabb is the same age as Tommy and Mark, but he seems younger. He has a likeable, funny, nerdy, boyish way about him that’s all on the surface. He’s quick to diffuse tension with laughter and loves to clown it up at parties. He’s an only child, coddled since birth, and the only trouble he’s ever gotten into growing up was being late to school without a note from mum.

Proffessor (John) Reeton

Males, aged 30 to 60 from New South Wales, Aus

Proffessor (John) Reeton is hard to read, with a rumpled face that barely moves when he speaks. He could be furious or perfectly content and you’d get about the same, even-toned pitch in his voice. He’s all business and never loses his composure, although you wouldn’t want to interrupt him when he’s lecturing or push your luck with excuses or special requests. He’s an imposing man, but not necessarily tall, and his age is advanced enough that his experience and tenure is never questioned.
