It is a second year University film for Deakin University.
The film will revolve around a home intrusion which leads to a surgeon having to perform surgery on a bullet-wounded, violent intruder in the kitchen of his own home. The surgeon needs to finish the surgery before his family gets home, to keep them safe, but not all goes according to plan.
The short will be filmed entirely on RED Epics, which are cinema-grade cameras (used in such films as: The Hobbit, The Social Network, Prometheus, The Amazing Spider-Man, and many more).
As we are students we would prefer to hire on an unpaid basis. However, if we come to some sort of agreement, we may be able to supply a small payment. All expenses will be taken care of and transportation will be made available, if need be.

Surgeon - Lead Role
The surgeon is an middle aged to elderly man, who is an expert at his craft. He is an excellent surgeon who has won dozens of commemorations for his hard work and selflessness.
During the course of the short film, the surgeon is put into a position which leads him to have to go against all that he believes in. He is put into a situation where he feels he may need to take a life, something which he has never done before, in order to protect his family.

Criminal - Lead Role
The criminal is seen as a very bad person. He has killed people, raped people, all kinds of crimes. He is violent, threatening and unpredictable.
Within the short, the criminal has been shot, and needs the assistance of the surgeon to help remove the bullet wound. However the criminal is aggressive, careless and violent, putting him in a dangerous situation.
The character should look worn down or "scruffy", fairly typical of a "criminal" character. Slight facial hair may be asked of you.
