The Kitchen will be filming in July this year. Successful applicants will need to be available prior to the shoot to participate in comedy workshops with other actors and the director from June. We aim to produce a 25 min TV Pilot to pitch to Free-to-air TV stations as well as Pay TV and online platforms. Although this project is unpaid it has the possibility of being furthered into a TV series in 2013. The Kitchen is one of QUT’s largest graduate projects and will set a new precedence in the Qld Film and TV industry.
Interested applicants should apply even if they're unsure about the attributes of certain characters. We are interested in developing the characters around our cast and by work shopping scenes before the shoot.

THE KITCHEN | Synopsis |
The pilot episode of "The Kitchen" tells the story of Mickey, a recently divorced Buisness's graduate's first day as a kitchen Manager in a struggling restaurant. When he arrives at the resturant he discovers he has been hired without the knowledge or consent of the resident female chef who leaves for the day in protest. Mickey finds that to survive his first day in this new and hostile environment, not only will he need his management skills but the support of as many of the staff as possible.
