Our project is a dramatic comedy set in Ancient Greece.
This is an original play being cast for the Montreal 2012 Fringe Festival.
A veteran Director and Writer (both Montrealers) have teamed up for this project.
We need hardworking, experienced actors (4 male, 2 female) who have a minimum of 25 hours each week to devote to the project until June 24th.
Auditions will begin April 10th.

Frank Siddens

Frank is an ad agency writer longing for more rewarding, creative work. He has a wry, world-weary approach to most situations. He also harbours affection for a female colleague. Frank is also a procrastinator who finds tomorrow a lot more attractive than today. He is smart, perceptive and sensitive.

General Nicias was a real General in Ancient greece. He led several military campaigns. His "credentials" include friend of Socrates, Plato, Gen. Acibiades. He was a firm supporter of Socrates and commended him for his military valour. He was one of the Generals who presided over the defeat of Athens in the Peloponnesian wars. He is tough, intelligent and very smart. Research is required for this role.

Plenides is a role which requires playing the character at different ages. He is a talented student of Socrates. While later he is an aide-de-camp for General Xenophobus. Plenides is vain and ambitious. His conviction that he should "be in charge" will get him in trouble. When he sees his chance, his "better nature" gets lost in the shuffle. Like almost every character in the play, he lives in Ancient Greece, Circa 400 B.C.

He is also strongly religious and believes that somehow he is "fighting the good fight". Research is necessary.
