I'm starting a theatre-in-education company and need my last cast member for the first show. It will be an hour-long performance about WW2 with songs, aimed at Key Stage 2. It's a cast of four including myself and I'm quite flexible with the roles so I either need someone who can play the mother (20's onwards, must be a strong singer) or someone who can play a young girl of twelve or so (teens to early 20's - obviously artistic license goes a long way!) Either role will also have to double as an Andrews Sisters-type singer.
Drivers with own vehicle are preferred for flexibility, but I will consider non-drivers depending on where they're based. The rest of the cast are based around Leicestershire and so people from Leics, Notts, Derbys, parts of Staffs/West mids are preferred. Rehearsals will be unpaid but we'll try and keep them to a minumum, and there will also be a trial performance before we go into any paying schools, at which point it will essentially be a profit-share - you should get £40-50 per show but flexibility is key as it's a new venture and I can't start marketing it and trying to get bookings till I have all my cast in place, so I don't know how often performances will be!
I think it would really suit a college or drama school leaver, or somebody who does have other work to tide them over, but which is flexible! Myself and the other two cast members are all self-employed and can be flexible - if you have one or two shifts/commitments/classes a week we may be able to work around it, just get in touch.
Any questions welcome!
