‘play’ is an entertainingly silly play that trips lightly over some serious themes — not least the question of what a play is and what a play can be about. Writer (one of the characters) writes the play more or less as it unfolds, and the other characters are fated to follow the script whether they will or no. Their efforts to speak their own minds are themselves scripted. The only uncertainties in their fate depend on the fact that Writer himself has not yet made up his mind ...
‘play’ is an absurdist romantic comedy with a murder (no mystery). You’ll have to be in it for the love of it, but will share the profits if we make any.
