Theatre actors required- Glasgow

Actors for short theatre tour of an original comedy play. Also be played in smaller venues
Casting no. 128301  -  Glasgow, UK
Casting complete: Applications now closed. Email to a friend
Royal Flush Theatre Productions are about to begin a 2010 tour of the original play "Last Stop" (A comedy about an old folks home set in Glasgow). Actors are required for various parts. Playing in theatres in and around Glasgow including Eastwood Theatre (Glasgow) and The Palace Theatre (Kilmarnock). There is no payment sadly but all cast and crew will be promoted heavily during the marketing which will hopefully incorporate television advertising. This is a very exciting opportunity to become involved in a tour which will hopefully give the company enough revenue to book The Kings Theatre in Glasgow in 2011.

Even though the characters are old in the play we would welcome anyone over the age of 30 to play an oldie.

Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom

Payment details: no pay

Nurse Rose

Nurse Rose: a sassy, couldn't care less attitude with no caring instincts whatsoever. She is more interested in her nails and hair than in the oldies' health.

Females, aged 25 to 35 from the United Kingdom

Jack

Jack is the manager of the old folks home, an Englishman who if characterised would be Basil Faulty, right down to the way he hates the people he is paid to look after. Jack is always looking for a way to gain money to get him out of the home as it is his own personal hell.

Males, aged 30 to 45 from the United Kingdom

Ivor

Ivor is a meak old man who is highly sexed although he finds it difficult to raise a smile. He has visions of being the main love machine in the old folks home but the others seem to shut him down quickly. There is another side to Ivor as he feels that he no longer wants to continue with his life now that his wife has died.

Males, aged 30 to 85 from the United Kingdom

Hilda

Hilda is a twee old lady in the stereotypical fashion. She is not very bright but we get the idea that she certainly is not as daft as she portrays. A nice little woman who would rather have a quiet life.

Females, aged 30 to 81 from the United Kingdom

Bobby / Tommy

Bobby is a gay student spending time in the home as a placement for his college. Bobby thinks that this is going to be a bit of a skive but finds out that things are not quite as pleasant as he thought they would be. In the second act the actor who played Bobby will play the part of Bobby's twin brother Tommy, a television presenter.
