Calling all choirs. . .
The brand-new pop opera concert show Stars of the Opera is coming to town and it is looking for the best choir in the West Midlands to join them on stage.
All-new stage show Stars of the Opera premieres at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, on Saturday, June 9, and the production is launching a competition to find the local area’s very best choir. The winning group will be invited to take part in the eagerly-awaited performance.
From Nessun Dorma to Bohemian Rhapsody, O Sole Mio to Unchained Melody, Stars of the Opera is billed as the show for opera fanatics and popular music fans alike. Classical favourites combine with show-stopping, opera-flavoured interpretations of current-day smash hits.
“It’s the most comprehensive opera show ever,” says show promoter Michael Taylor.
“Breathtaking performances are delivered superbly by supremely-experienced performers.”
Stars of the Opera states its content does “exactly what it says it is on the tin”, featuring stars from the world of opera, musical theatre and pop in their own right.
“With cast members emanating from France, Spain, Australia and the UK,” says Michael, “Stars of The Opera is a truly international concert experience.
“Beautiful and touching one moment, rousing and powerful the next, astounding solos and sublime harmonies deliver the truly wonderful score with style, charm and panache.”
The show’s publicity declares the cast’s incredible vocal agility matches the singers’ stunning good looks.
“Star of the Opera – an incredible, unforgettable theatre experience possessing something for absolutely everyone,” says Michael.
Choirs wishing to compete in the competition should send audio or video of their performance plus a full CV detailing experience and size of the group
