Be taken back in time to the heady days of the late 1930's - the Peninsula Ballroom hosts a weekly radio broadcast featuring Smoothy McGroovy and his orchestra, starring Candy Sweetness, singer, Diggs & Shadowbolt, comedy duo extraordinaire, and the talented Schless sisters - Bess, Tess & Jess.

There's just one problem. Candy has been killed.

Enter Detective Robert Soxx - he's in the audience, and when the murder is discovered, he takes charge of the investigation.

Also in the audience, Lonegan Megabucks has brought his new, lovely, innocent, straight-from-the-country secretary Hilda Hilgenbrauer out for a night on the town. Lonegan has his own secrets that he'd like to keep hidden....Hilda, on the other hand, is fascinated by being at the murder scene, and teams up with the Detective to eventually track down the killer.
