The Rugby League of the Extraordinary has been created not only to show the hard men of the RFL as warriors, physically indomitable, at the top of their game, but also as superhuman being’s with abilities to marvel at. We see them in situations that while related to the sport are simultaneously a million miles from the rugby pitch. It is a backstage pass to the RFL crossed with Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.
The simplest expression of the films concept is that it’s a walk through a Rugby League changing room that has been transported to Coney Island, where we see a mix of circus, the extraordinary, carnivale and reality, staring famous Rugby League players exhibiting extraordinary feats of strength, speed or agility. It is the opening credits to the greatest show on earth.
