Violet Is Dead is a short film written (and to be directed) by Thomas Cruickshank.
The story begins with a retired (single) war vet sitting on his verandah one morning when he witnesses his shy next door neighbour dragging the body of his wife out of the house. The war vet confronts his neighbour, telling him that he should confess to the police what he has done. Little does the next-door neighbour know, the war vet has a few dark secrets of his own...

Gringo is the war vet who witnesses his next door neighbour dragging his dead wife to their car. Being a retired war vet, Gringo is a big guy who intimidates his neighbour.

The Neighbour. Is pretty skinny and weedy. A nerd, but fully grown. Hard to explain. He is a bit of a loony, and killed his wife out of frustration more than hatred. Fas-talking, panicky.
