What is our film project?

Written by Kevin Pacey, Piranha (working title), is a highly-charged, original and gripping super short film that re-imagines the 2011 English riots, and the current financial crisis that is gripping the UK and the rest of the world.

The Synopsis:

Piranha takes place during the summer riots, but is set far away from the inner-city boroughs where the looters ran amok. Instead, we turn the spotlight onto the financial headquarters of the City, where slick businessmen and women march towards their offices, oblivious to the on-going violence. But as they prepare for the markets to open in large groups, they change clothes from designer suits into hooded tops, and a reckless ruthless rioter appears in all of them, driven by adrenaline, greed and empowerment.

What is our Aim?

With Piranha, our aim is to provoke debate and challenge dominant narratives that disenfranchise the vulnerable and scapegoat them for the immorality of others. Through this visually-led and open-ended film, we hope to encourage viewers to think for themselves, question preconceived ideas, and reach their own conclusions.

What stage are we at?

We are in the pre-production stages, where we are building a strong team and preparing the ground to shoot the film in the early-September period.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
