NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) and Don Ebony Productions Ltd, the organisers of NEMFFEST (www.nemffest.org) are working in collaboration to present our film competition addressing blood donation. Can you create a short film which encourages people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities to donate blood resulting in helping to save lives?
This is a brilliant opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to showcase their talent in a short film (not exceeding 4 mins). The winning film will be announced on the NHSBT website and shown via our Facebook site and YouTube Channel, exposing your work to over 140,000 loyal Facebook supporters and beyond. In addition, the winning short film will be entered into the New Element Music and Film Festival 2012.
Your film can make a difference to those in need, and help us to raise awareness about this important issue.
The aim is to produce a short film that educates people on the need for blood donors from the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Communities. A large proportion of patients from these communities have a rare blood group, another factor is that if they have conditions like Sickle Cell Anaemia and Thalassaemia Major they will require regular blood transfusions; these conditions are also more prevalent in both communities.
