The Made in Melbourne Film Festival is an exclusive showcase for Melbourne filmmakers and short films that are 'Made in Melbourne'. 2012 marks our fourth year of celebrating the desire, drive, and diversity of our local film community by screening the very best short films Melbourne has to offer.
Submissions are now open. Last year, MIM was an amazing success, close to 500 people attended the festival over three nights to watch some terrific local films. Expect more of the same in 2012 but even bigger and better -- more films, more fun, more sensational local shorts!
Submissions for 2012 close Friday October 5th.
There is a $20 fee for the first film submitted, $10 for each additional film. All money from film submissions goes towards the costs of running the festival. We accept cheques or money orders only, addressed to Nexus Production Group.
MIM is also affiliated with two monthly film nights, Short Cut and Comfortable Shorts. So even if your film is not selected for Made In Melbourne there is a chance it may be selected for Short Cut or Comfortable Shorts in 2013.
Made In Melbourne also has a competition component on opening night, Best Film, to be judged by the audience. The top three films will be awarded trophies and win fantastic prizes. Then we do it again the following night, with the top film taking home the door money. It's all about the people, participation, all about fun!
