PITCH
CORKSCREW is a Science Fiction/Thriller short film that explores the moral complexity of time
travel. The naturalism of urban science fiction, as depicted in the low budget feature, PRIMER, will be meshed with the thriller elements of Christopher Nolan’s FOLLOWING.
SYNOPSIS
A scientist travels back in time to save her son from a home invasion but she faces an ethical
dilemma when destiny changes paths.

Ben Phelps - Writer & Director
Ben Phelps is an award-winning writer and director. Ben’s short films, CHECKPOINT (Screen NSW Young Filmmakers Fund) and NICE SHOOTIN’ COWBOY (Screen Australia), have garnered over 20 awards and been selected for Official Competition in over 100 prestigious international festivals, including 40 Academy Awards accredited festivals. Highlights include major prizes in Australia, USA, Canada, France, Italy, Spain and Russia, plus selection in the final 80 films eligible for the 2011 Oscars after winning Best Short Film at Austin Film Festival.
John Brawley - DOP
John Brawley is an incredibly experienced and talented DOP whose recent credits include Puberty Blues (Channel 10), Offspring (Channel 10), Tangle (Foxtel), Lowdown (ABC), Twentysomething (ABC), Lake Mungo (Sundance 2010) and the upcoming feature, 100 Bloody Acres (2012).
John Hresc - SOUND DESIGNER
John began his audio career as a recording engineer in 1984, working with local Australian talent and independent record labels such as Shock, Phantom and the infamous Waterfront records with more than 120 producing and recording credits to date. He continued recording music of all genre's,until he became an audio director at Foxtel in 1997.For the next 10 years worked on numerous Foxtel promotions and productions, in 2006 winning a Gold Promax for best Sound Design at World Promax in New york. He has worked on a variety of TV promotions,programs, documentaries and animations for Channels 7, 9 and 10.During his work in television he also had collaborated with a number filmmakers as a sound and dialogue editor, sound designer and sound supervisor culminating in 12 national and international award winning Films to date.He is currently a member of the Australian Screen Sound Guild, a lecturer and mentor at The Sydney Film School and The Australian Institute of Music, also is the owner and director of ZerO dB Sound.
