On Saturday 9th June, St.Helens Town Centre plays host to the Covent Garden Buskers - On Tour.

A team of the UK’s best street performers are on a tour of the country, including London during the Olympics and Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Covent Garden in London is known as the Home of Street Performing. Covent Garden has some of the best street performers in the world – jugglers, escape artists, tightrope walkers and more who entertain the crowds every day. Now a hand-picked team are on a tour, taking their acts to new places and have confirmed that St.Helens is on their schedule and they will be calling in for one day only.

During the day, there will be a limited number of pitches available to local artists to bring their talents to the streets alongside these performers and we hope that this will give us the opportunity to build this into St.Helens’ very own ‘Buskers Festival’ in future years. Performances on the day will run from 11am - 4pm.

These spaces will need to be applied and auditioned for, either in person or via an audio or video clip such as YouTube, Soundcloud or Facebook.
