Chelmsford, Essex based band doing original songs in a blues/rock vein
I am 50 years old and I am the guitarist and main songwriter in the band. I am looking at developing a band which will hopefully become my retirement career.
After years of honing my trade playing in covers bands all over the UK and Europe, followed by a 10 year lay off I have a dream to earn some recognition and hopefully some money too playing my own songs with a great bunch of guys or gals. My aim is to put together a 3 piece "nucleus" Drums, Bass and Guitar.
Our current Bass Player is leaving to develop his keyboard interests and the drummer is becoming more tied up with his other projects, hence this avert. Obviously the music is important but so is the passion and social aspect of being in a band. I have done solo and will probably do the odd solo acoustic gig if required but for me it is the whole big picture of being in a band.
I guess that the kind of person this might appeal to would be in a similar position to me, wanting an outlet from day to day work etc, maybe reviving a passion from the past, social interaction on a common ground and maybe even a retirement career like me but this is not a pre-requistite, anyone who fancies being in a band like Blackwater Sunset can apply.
