I am the musical director for Southampton’s only a cappella vocal group ‘Allure’, and we are looking for some (low singing) female and (baritone/tenor) male singers to join us. At the moment there are 8 of us, but 2 are leaving in the summer so we need replacements (and perhaps a couple more)

At the moment we are an all-girl group between the ages of 19 and 22, who sing classic songs and chart hits, but I am looking to make it into a mixed gender group so we can do a bigger range of songs and have a wider appeal.

We have done many unpaid gigs over the past year, so are starting to get our name out there, and we are looking to build up our popularity in the next year, and to hopefully start to get some paid gigs.

I am looking for strong solo singers who have strong harmonising skills too to fill these places. It would be preferable for those applying to be able to read music, and the ability to sight sing at least a little bit would be helpful too.

Female singers:
As our lowest singing female is leaving Allure this year, we are looking for someone with a similar vocal range to fill her spot. This range is from the D below middle C to approx the A above middle C.

Male singers:
Male singers won’t really need to sing above a middle C, because the other parts will cover this range.

Those suitable will be asked to come for a short informal audition at my house in Southampton for me to assess their singing, harmonising and music reading skills.
