Short film adapted from short story Grannies Old Junk.
Gary wakes up just like any other normal day and routes through his stash to
find he is has cleared out both his cash and his heroin. In a state of desperation
he makes a trip to go visit his Nan who he hasn’t visited for years. However his
interests in his visit lie not with catching up with his grandmother, but more
on the contents of the biscuit tin that she keeps under her bed. On his arrival
Gary exchanges pleasantries with his Nan for as long as he can but withdrawal
symptoms have well and truly kicked in. He makes an excuse to go to the toilet
and makes a break to her bedroom to lift the mattress where he knows the
money would be stashed, although on prizing open the tin finds that it is not
money that his Nan is stashing, but large quantities of heroin. He doesn’t notice
her behind him and she tries to get the stash back of Gary. Although when they
both calm down she explains that she has the kids off the estate selling it for her.
Gary then suggests that the two of them could make a lot of profit out of this. The
film ends.
