URGENT!

We are looking for volunteer make-up artists to help us with an exciting dance event to be staged this Friday 6th April at Chelsea Theatre. You will be preparing our dancers for the show on the day prior to the event at 6 pm.

As we are a charity with limited budget this position is unpaid however it is a great opportunity for networking and publicity, and your work will be credited on NICOLA's website/ documentary video.

Make-Up Artists for DATW

NICOLA (New International Company of Live Arts) is a non-profit organisation that works with young people who have a passion in performing arts. Our aim is to promote new talent through events and festivals.

We have an upcoming performance “Dance around the World”, a collaborative event supported by the British Council through the European Commission. It will be staged at Chelsea Theatre on Friday April 6th, and we are looking for volunteer make up artists to work for us on the day. This would suit individuals interested in gaining more experience in working with dancers.

ABOUT THE PROJECT: Dance Around the World is a youth exchange programme between NICOLA from the United Kingdom and the Youth Dance Organisation based in Latvia. The aim of the project is to enrich young people’s knowledge of the origins of various dance styles, to create items that reflect their cultural and social identity, and to encourage them to confidently voice their opinions. They have engaged in a dance project that focuses on the theme of cultural influences in dance, and the related music, fashion and social issues.

There will be 20-30 dancers present for the performance (male and female). As a volunteer make-up artist you will be responsible of preparing 8-10 dancers (tbc) for the show on the day. This is an unpaid post; however it is a great opportunity for those interested in gaining experience and building new contacts.


Key Responsibilities
- To be available on Friday 06/04/2012 from 10am till 8pm max (slots to be allocated)
- To have your own materials/ equipment

Ideally you will have experience and/or qualified and trained.
