At its heart, The Long Road Home tackles the basic human quest for love, loss, and second chances

The Long Road Home tells the story of William, a young man, lost in the forest and fated to die until he stumbles upon an isolated house which is occupied by a kind old lady. In classic fairytale style, the audience is torn, wondering if the old lady has saved him as an act of kindness, or whether something sinister is lurking behind her every action.
At its heart, The Long Road Home tackles the basic human quest for love, loss, and second chances, whilst dappling with concepts of fate, destiny and the unknown. The film has strong old fashioned storytelling influences from the works of The Brothers Grim, Hans Christian Anderson and the silent black and white film era.

William

Males, aged 20 to 30 from West Australia, Aus

William is a twenty-something year old young man, broodingly attractive, sensitive and full of remorse. Having lost everything in this world worth living for, he finds his will to survive, yet begins to question his sanity as he becomes haunted by the face of the beautiful Eleanor, who may or may not actually exist.

Old woman

Females, aged 50 to 99 from West Australia, Aus

This role promises to be a challenging yet enjoyable experience, due to the ambiguity and mystery surrounding the character. She is a woman of the earth and has worked the land for most of her life, choosing isolation and nature over the company of society. She carries herself with a quiet dignity and while representing the warm and inviting grandmother figure, should have a hardness to her that would keep you slightly off-guard.
