I've been playing for the past 9+ years mostly solo but I often collaborate with other musicians in duos or trios at gigs and jam sessions.
I've been writing since very young age, I can't remember, 13 maybe? My very first instrument, apart from my voice, was the piano which my dad taught me at the age of 6. But I got fed up with the piano and eventually was given a classical guitar as a present when I turned 14, pretty much the age when most teenagers start playing a guitar. A lot lighter to carry around. I write my own songs but play covers too.
I've never been taught how to play guitar and sing, except for 7 lessons I took about 4 years ago in guitar & voice thinking that they would help me improve my techniques. I'm most grateful to the voice teacher who gave me good tips on singing sitting down as I had great difficulty, at the time, with mobility and performing standing up was not an option. I look forward to the day that I'll be playing my guitar standing up as mobility improves.
So, I'm mostly self-taught. I have found that I learn more playing with other musicians and it's a lot more enjoyable too :)
My songs are strongly influenced by the Blues and Folk Rock and the rhythmical melodies. And it is with by means of rhythm that I am able to convey messages and feelings to the my audiences, taking each and everyone to the same journey I experience. I try to!
