In the past I have played in bands of all sizes from duos upwards, and have also played solo gigs. Venues have been at home and abroad, such as a 6 month hotel contract in Abu Dhabi and various cruise ship work. At home I've played theatres, hotels,clubs, pubs - I also played live on ChannelM accompanying a singer friend of mine, and once spent 6 months touring with the late Bernard Manning. At the moment I play with an 18 pc jazz orchestra for fun mid week, & then have a Saturday residency backing live acts. Both these are reading gigs, but playing by ear and improvising isn't a problem - and I like to play all styles of music. At the moment my main income comes from teaching keyboards, piano and organ in schools and on a private basis (I'd be willing to give all this work up for the right opportunity).
As far as gear goes, I use a Yamaha, two Korgs, a Novation, Roland piano and a Hammond type keyboard. I probably wouldn't need all 6 keyboards but we'll see. Two of the above have on board sequences and auto accomp backing facilities and are ideal for self contained work - I have backline too.
