Maybe it's time for change. I was born in California Where everybody wants to be a star And drive a nice car But for every star in a nice car Are a million of us who just don't survive it's a hard life So lately, been, contemplatin Thinkin I should leave the sate alone And find me another home Where the cost of livings minute No one wears versace suits And the city lights go out at night Maybe change 'll do me good I've been down for so long now I forgot where I wanted to go And who I wanted to be No longer see a rock star in me Now all I'm wantin is a steady job And a lovely family So lately, been, contemplatin Thinkin I should change my young man ways And I may just do it today Pick up take off for the Midwest Where the cost of living is less And the city lights go out at night Country may just do me good.
