We are very pleased to announce the winner of our 2009 Student Film Competition. Goldie attends QUT (Queensland University of Technology) Kelvin Grove campus - BFA (Film & TV) She placed a casting call at the start of 2009 for her experimental short film and cast StarNow actress Maddy Smith.
"When I was looking for actors for my short student film, I had heard about StarNow from some students in the grade above me. I had so many applicants, and finally found one that suited the role perfectly! Winning this prize is exactly what I needed, because I'm in my final year of film study at QUT and I'm about to direct a 10 minute documentary, as well as start building some amazing sets for drama. There will be many more films to come!" Goldie.

We have had a wonderful year and would like thank all our talented members for being a part of StarNow.
There have been some fantastic success stories, with members taking part in feature films, TV shows, modelling competitions, photoshoots and theatre productions.
Our aim for 2010 is to have more professional casting calls on the site. We will be out and about making sure the best opportunities can be found on StarNow!
Keep doing what you love and we'll help you take control of your career in 2010.

To increase your chances of winning and to get some extra publicity, you can upload your film to the StarNow Youtube page.
To do this follow the directions below:
1. Become a friend of the StarNow Youtube page
2. Upload your video to Youtube
3. Share your video with StarNow and we will add it to our page.
We will be announcing the $1000 winner in January so you still have plenty of time to cast, shoot and upload your film.

StarNow members take top Pageant Titles in Australia! |

Along with Miss Universe Australia and Miss World Australia, the 2009 Miss Earth winner is a StarNow member!
Twenty-four contestants from around the country took part in the competition but only one took away the title and that was Melinda Heffernan from Sydney. Melinda has a Bachelor of Communication & Media Studies majoring in Advertising and Marketing, from the University of Wollongong.
