West Side Shorts hosts special screening of 'The Ninja - The Prelude'
Six short films in a warm atmosphere. Drinks and dinner are available.
It's also a chance to mingle with the filmmakers before and after the event. Close to thirteen short films and one feature have been made through the networking at this event which has been running for two and a half years now.
Highlights this time around include 'The Ninja- The Prelude' which is the prequel to the multi-million dollar feature film which will be shot in Geelong. Animated short 'Awakening' from David Gould who is at present helping out with the latest Planet of the Apes reboot in Canada. Michael Zeitz will also be traveling all the way from South Australia to introduce his short black comedy Killjoy. Documentary 'Always the Godfather' will open up our eyes to the tribulations of a lesbian couple keen to have their own child and the lengths their surrogate godfather will go to help them achieve this.
Please don't be late as the last film will go for twenty five minutes and we want to start on time.
When: Tuesday 14th September at 8.30pm sharp Where: 161 Nelson Place, Williamstown at the Customs House Hotel, Melbourne, Australia Cost: $5
A bottle of wine provided by StarNow will be given away on the night to one audience member. This is a great chance to network with filmmakers and we encourage all StarNow members to head along on the 14th.
Claire Fearon wins Best Performance Award for her role in 'Tree of Hurt'
21 Jul 2010
We recently checked out the student films at the 12th Sydney Film School Festival and Cameron presented the Outstanding Performance Award which StarNow sponsors.
The award goes to both an actor and the director who worked together to create an outstanding performance. Sydney Film School Tutors judged the award and the winners were: Claire Fearon for her amazing performance in 'Tree of Hurt' and Karan Shrestha who did a fantastic job directing Claire. Both Claire and Karan receive $500 from StarNow.
There were a lot of amazing short films and documentaries and we were impressed by the quality of them.
