Becki Short

21 from Portsmouth, United Kingdom
Model, Actor, Musician, Dancer, Photographer
Although I am based in Portsmouth, I am prepared to travel for screen work. I am a fast learner and enthusiastic person to work with. I always try my hardest and give everything my all. I love performing, meeting new people and making new friends. I have gained a lot of on screen experience since starting to work on progressing my acting career properly in November 2010. I have met a lot of great people, and I'm really looking forward to meeting more! I am relaxed on set and easy to talk to, as well as being happy to help out wherever I can.

Modeling

Modeling experience:Beginner, starting out
I really enjoy modelling - I have done a few shoots in the past. I like the weird and wonderful, and I'd love to do some "interesting and different" modelling, but I am up for most things to get some experience.

I have naturally brown hair which is quite versatile as it is naturally curly/frizzy but straightens and curls easily. I own extentions which blend easily with my hair, and can style my hair and makeup myself if needed. I enjoy having different types of makeup on, and suit natural makeup as well as different and interesting.

I have grade 5 and 6 in singing.

I perform regularly at open mic nights in my area as well as at a few markets in the Portsmouth area. I own a PA system which I can bring with me to any event.

My style of singing is wide, I can sing 1940's inspired sets, general pop from 60's to modern day, tradition, jazz, blues, soul and musical pieces to name a few. I am eager to learn new styles too, and am happy to learn new songs specifically for an event. Artists in my repertoire include Eva Cassidy, Stevie Wonder, Evanescence, La Roux, Carrie Underwood, Robbie Williams and Sara Barellies.

I also sing at various events (some are charity events) each year, including the Waterlooville Music Festival, and a charity event I organise for Cystic Fibrosis Kids of Portsmouth.

I have taken part in the Portsmouth Music Festival and the Gosport Music Festival a number of times, and have won The Catherine Cup (Portsmouth) and the Austin T Stake Cup (Gosport).

I have performed at the Wedgewood Rooms as part of my Music BTEC, which I got a merit in.

Dancing

Dancing ability:Intermediate

Dance styles

BalletContemporaryJazzTap
I started tap and modern dance lessons at the age of three, and I have been doing ballet since I was 5 years old.

I have up to grade 5 in ballet, as well as grade 7.
In Tap I have grade 1 - 5 and medal tests bronze to 1st shield.
Modern dancing I have grades 1 - 4 and medal tests bronze to 2nd award.

I have danced on many famous stages with my dance school, including Her Majesty's Theatre, Sadlers Wells and The Royal Albert Hall.

I performed on pointe for a song and dance duet in a talent show a few years ago which we won, and I have recently performed on pointe for a short cross-platform project, as well as for a ballet photoshoot with Elie Dervonte.

Choreography: I choreographed the dances for my medal tests in modern and tap, all of which achieved honours and above. I also created a ballet duet for a talent show, which we won. I dance every week on my own where I make up dances for possible future use. I would really love the chance to choreograph a dance piece for a big number of people.
