I have been playing for over 2 and a half years now, I'm constantly playing guitar. I mainly learn and play metal, hard rock and classic rock stuff but i will to try to progress into blues based styles too. As soon as I learnt the basics when i first started out I instantly began to write my own full length songs, mainly instrumental, but I have tried my hand with songwriting too. Ive started to train myself with learning by ear but I can also watch other guitarist play to learn a song as well. I can improve off the top of my head I have found, as I will make what ever sound possible that has some form of musical quality to it, melody and tempo too. I have a bit of a natural beat (which sometimes favors double-bass drums when i tap my foot) which can help a lot with riff making. I do sing a lot mainly along to songs but I try to come up with my own lyrics (as stated previously) which I would sing to as well. I have also been learning to do more harsh vocals as well if a heavy band required a backing vocalist to provide that. I also have a little knowledge for drums as well.
