David Hamilton-Smith

London, United Kingdom

Actor, Musician

I am fun-loving but hard-working. I love everything about the entertainment industry and would welcome more acting work, as well as the opportunity to expand my music, production and post-production work. I am a thorough professional who is equally at home being "in charge" as producer, or as part of a team as an engineer or actor or singer.

I recorded my first single with my band "The Phantoms" when I was 14. It rocketed to obscurity! But I got a taste for engineering and production, which I then later went on to learn at Olympic Studios where the Stones, the Faces, Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles etc all recorded.

I recorded the original albums of Evita and Cats, and the cast album of Evita won a Grammy.

I sang on Evita and did backing vocals on many bands' tracks that I was working on.

I also write and produce music for commercials and television shows like The Mirror group newspapers, Great Crimes and Trials of the 20th Century, Ford, Zovirax Cold Sore Cream and Unichem.

I play guitar reasonably well and am very proficient on ProTools, Audiofile, SSL, Mackie etc. I often add acoustic guitar to tracks for bands I am working with.

I am very familiar with all production techniques and pride myself in keeping up with all the modern trends on computers and istruments.

I am told I have a good voice and know that I can sing in tune. I often find harmonies and backing vocals that the band or artist haven't thought of.

I worked with Barbra Streisand on four singles including "Coming In and Out of My Life" and "Memory" and I had the audacity to sing a phrasing to her! She said that I was one of the very few engineer/producers who had ever sung to her!
