I have worked as a professional singer in various mediums; At sessions, both in UK and Australia; hosting karaoke evenings in clubs and at private functions, as the female lead in an 8 piece Motown tribute band, performing at Army bases clubs and bars up and down the country, including the famed Mean Fiddler in NW London.
In Australia I sang with a Fringe theatre group. As well as developing our own show,we played in clubs;at wedding fairs and community festivals in and around Melbourne
I have played at the Royal Albert Hall as part of a concert band( flute), and recorded demos with various artists, including a production company(Wattage Productions).
Having performed in a cover band, my vocal range and style are broad. I'm as comfortable singing 'Joni Mitchell' or 'Tina Turner', and have auditioned for operatic roles, where the feedback has been very positive. I am currently involved in developing my own compositions with my partner(in crime), and hope to be able to put together a showcase soon.
I recently performed with The Blackheath Choir, a well received South London choir of over 70 members which is in its 41st year. We sang carols at Canary Wharf, gave a rousing rendition of Edward Elgars' King Olaf at the Blackheath halls, and were wonderfully received at Blackheath's BIG Screen event, as part of the 2012 Olympic celebrations.
I enjoy playing the flute, contemporary and classical(I love improvising- along to early Yes and Genesis tracks) and can also play the piccolo and the recorder in 3 sizes(descant, treble and tenor).
My keyboard skills are good enough for composing, as I studied 1yr as a teen.I can read music both for instrumental and vocal purposes. As well as strumming some good chords on a regular acoustic,I'm learning to play Electric Bass(Stuart Hamm and Bootsy Collins-Watch out!)
In resent years I've also developed a working knowledge of some great music production and development software(Cubase,Reason and FLStudio) these tools can turn you into a regular 'Mike Oldfield', if you're blessed with any musical talent, and put in the man hours.
My plan is to put together a profile and showcase web page ASAP.
