Ashley Sey a.ka GiGi – Biography
Ashley Sey a.k.a GiGi is about to release her debut album, much to the excitement of her already sizeable army of fans. With the album expected to be a success and fame imminent, the exciting, newfangled sound that she has made her own is certain to gain interest from across the world.
The development of her unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that Ashley was always surrounded by different forms of music. His mother was a full-time opera singer . Her father was a major player in her study of music. Her parents exposed her to a wealth of music as a child, all of which influenced her development.
Ashley’s musical journey did not begin in Cartersville, however. Born in Atlanta , it was here that she developed her musical tastes and interests, and it wasn’t long after buying her first guitar that she was experimenting along the path of her musical journey. Later after numerous tries with the guitar, however, Ashley decides to stick to vocal instrumentation.
After realizing that making music was her main goal, she began to showcase his talent in various venues across Los Angeles , playing at numerous gigs and making sure that her name and music would be heard by as many people as possible. She was quickly noted for the unique style that she brought to the traditional R&B scene, and her popularity continues to grow..
But although his name was continuing to grow in Atlanta, it was not here that she believed to be her destiny. Instead, Ashley had developed an affinity with various types of music. So with having not travelled frequently as a child, she left to go on a one two week vacation to California in 2008. She hasn’t been back to GA since.
Here hier musical ambitions continued to grow, aided by the sounds of that which she found all around her. Although traditional R&B music is where Ashley’s roots lie, and there was plenty on offer in Atlanta , that is not to say that she finds herself restricted to this genre. In fact her influences are vast, which her CD collection demonstrates, providing literally a room full of music from every spectrum on the music scale.
She is keen to point out that everything she listens to directs her musical development in some way. However, she would certainly include Etta James, Janice Joplin, Phylliss Hyman, Aretha Franklin, Adel and Anita Baker as amongst her biggest influences.
Finally, after honing his unique sound over recent years, he is now preparing to release his debut album, ‘The Sound Track of My Life’, which underlies the changes that Ashley has gone through over recent years. The biggest of these was the ‘switch’ from Atlanta to California, which has allowed her to develop as a person, and has in turn profoundly, aided her musical development.
