The IAC is an umbrella organisation for non-commercial film makers either as individuals or in clubs who want help, support and friendship through the media of Film, Video and Audio/Visual productions.
The membership is open to all ages and abilities. There is a place for those who simply want to tidy up family films to those who want to produce work of the highest quality. All are welcome. Regionally the IAC runs competitions, talks and technical forums.

The IAC runs the British International Amateur Film Competition, an annual competition open to members and non-members of all ages, which has a world wide reputation for excellence.
Each film entered is given a standard rating with the most outstanding films being awarded a Diamond Award and the Best of the Best film is awarded the Daily Mail Trophy. A programme of entries to this competition is shown at the British International Film Festival (BIAFF) in April.
