I started acting a year ago; I had been performing as a musician (singer / songwriter / guitarist) for two years previously and this taught me to take on a performing persona on stage. This was easy to transfer to acting and I find the challenge of acting really exciting.

Filmography:
June 2012: Darren Flatts - a 15 / 20 minute film for BadgeHat Productions, Lincoln. Acted as "The Bald Man" (speaking part). This film has not yet completed editing.

November 2012: Soldier(s) - a 5 minute film for Jacob Leese (2nd Year Film Student, Stoke). Speaking part, main character. Completed film available as http://youtu.be/LasI834uUX4

November 2012: The Park - a 5 minute student film based at Warwick University. Silent filming plus voiceover. Completed film not yet made public.

February 2013: Pinot Rouge - a 5 minute student film, degree project for students at UCE, Birmingham. Studio and location filming. Played as "The Red Man" (a malevolent manifestation of alcoholism); speaking part. Premier at The Electric Cinema, Birmingham 24/04/2013.

March 2013: End Of Nights - a 5 - 10 minute student film, degree project for students at Coventry University. Extra role - speaking / fighting part

March 2013: Kin - a 5 minute student film, degree project for students at Coventry University. Speaking part (Michael) - a father in shock at wife leaving him.

I have alopecia, which means that I am very bald (unless I haven't shaved for a while) and have no eyebrows, which gives me an unusual look, but also makes it easy to change my appearance.

I am a guitarist / singer / songwriter based in Nuneaton and working around Warwickshire and the West Midlands area.

I have recently become self-employed in order to be able to completely focus on music (with a bit of acting thrown in) and I am currently seeking new projects to work on. I have a huge love of music and am always totally committed to any project I become involved in.
I am currently developing a number of acoustic duos (see www.crazypigeons.co.uk for more information) and I also perform as a solo artist (both original songs and covers) and with other artists from time to time:

I have been playing guitar for many years, but only in the live environment for a couple of years, having effectively been forced to by my son. Having been initially reluctant, the real trick now is being able to stop me performing. I believe I have a very adaptable style and am able to play just about anything and learn new material very quickly. Let me know if you think I can be of help or if you want any other information. You should be able to find me on Facebook as Ian Bourne or Ian Bourne Music.

  • Jacob Ian gave us a very impressive performance as 'Red Suit', the antagonist in our short film 'Pinot Rouge'. Off camera he's a friendly patient bloke and on camera he was a big scary sinister presence! We loved working with him and we'd cast him again in an instant.

  • S Hello, we are a group of four producing a very short, simple student film. The film is about the protagonist's feelings of regret and loss over past relationships. We aim to get one continuous shot of the protagonist walking through a park, the rest of the production is voiceover. We hope you will be interested, please see our profile page for further details. We would like to send you the script. We'll start shooting the film by next week. Thank you
