Jon studied at Trinity College of Music and London College of Music under Paul Westwood, finishing in 2011. In that time, Jon's experiences included teaching alongside the late Jeff Clyne, Laurie Holloway and Anita Wardell at the Holloway/Montgomerie Summer Course, playing West-End musical 'Betwixt!' for three months, and touring Senegal with Kate Winter, as well as regularly gigging around London, and occasionally other parts of the world
