COERCION is a sinister film noir with the feel of such films as Billy Wilder’s ‘Double Indemnity’, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Following’ and Joel Schumacher’s ‘Phone Booth’. Greg Baker is a suave and cocky salesman with a penchant for a good night on the town. When a twisted sociopath steals an object of immense importance from him, committing seemingly random acts of crime to satisfy his malicious tormentor is the only way for Greg to retrieve it. A thought provoking and heart-stopping race against time, COERCION is a story of how a deeply flawed yet innocent man’s strength, fortitude and courage are tested to the limit to save what he needs and cares for the most.

The roles will be shot in scenes in Derby. This is an ambitious first year student film, we are hoping to take this to a film festival and hold screenings in the future. Work is unpaid due to shoestring budget constraints however all cast members will be credited and receive a copy of the completed film. Food and drink will be provided on all shooting days.

Frank

Speaking part. A middle aged barman, Frank has seen many things in his years. Knowing of the occasional criminal goings on in his bar, he does nothing for fear of repercussions and closure of his bar due to the main clientele being from backgrounds of illegal activity. A cynical and often sarcastic individual whose true intentions and feelings are hard to work out. (Sunday 21st March 11am – TBC)

Shopkeeper

Speaking part. The shopkeeper has his store robbed at gunpoint. Either male or female, age mid 20’s+ (Thursday 18th March 6am-8am due to location permit and Friday 19th March 6am-8am TBC)
