The Korean Cultural Office has put together our biggest competition ever with the 2012 KOFFIA Short Film Competition. Open to all Australian filmmakers who wish to embrace Korea through their talents in film making, we now invite submissions for our 2012 competition.
The KOFFIA Short Film Competition will complement the 3rd KOFFIA, an opportunity to showcase the developing talent from our up and coming filmmakers. The screening and awards ceremony will take place on the 25th of August, 2012 during KOFFIA’s run at Dendy Opera Quays Cinema in Sydney. We hope to see you at the festival watching your own little masterpiece on the big screen!
The competition is open to both Korean and Australian filmmakers, as long as the film has a Korean aspect to it. Below are examples of what is eligible:
Your writer/director/producer/composer is of Korean heritage OR;
Your main actor/actress is of Korean heritage OR;
Your film is about Korean food/clothes/culture/traditions/people OR;
Your film is in Korean language OR;
Your film embraces Korea in some aspect
All of these examples would be eligible for entry. For more details see the entry requirements below. To participate in the competition for the screening and prizes for the Korean Cultural Office’s KOFFIA Short Film Competition supported by Metro Screen, The University of Sydney Faculty of Arts and NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art), an applicant must complete and submit the application form along with their film in DVD or HD file format.
2012 Awards
The Prize pool has received a massive buff this year. We are delighted to announce that Metro Screen will continue its support for young filmmakers in Australia as will The University of Sydney, Faculty of Arts. NIDA’s support with the best actor and actress awards will be the first showcase set apart for our actors in recognition of their growing talent.
