Performers needed for a Musical Theatre Showcase to be presented at the Tristan Bates Theatre (Covent Garden) from September 12-15, 2012. Specifically, we are looking for actors and actresses of various age and vocal ranges for three original 45-min musicals (two original shows and one adapted from the novel ‘Tall, Thin and Blonde’ by Dyan Sheldon) to be showcased to invited industry professionals and the public as part of the Goldsmiths (University of London) MA Musical Theatre programme.

PERFORMANCES:

The musicals will be presented at the Tristan Bates Theatre on two separate days: the first performance will be either on Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 or Friday 14 September, 2012 (TBC) and the second one will be on Saturday 15 September, 2012 in a festival format (7 shows to be presented from 1 to 8pm).

REHEARSALS:

August 20 – September 8, 2012 @ Goldsmiths College (New Cross).

Tech Rehearsals will run from September 9 – 11, 2012 @ Tristan Bates Theatre (Covent Garden).

Times TBC but performers should be available for all of the above dates.

REQUIREMENT:

Strong singing and acting skills.

DESIRABLE:

Extensive movement/dance background

This particular engagement is unpaid. It is meant as an opportunity to promote new Musical Theatre writing by offering the public original and innovative musicals and showcasing talented creatives and performers to Industry Professionals.

Auditionees will need to prepare one musical theatre song (sheet music for piano accompaniment to be brought to audition - no backing tracks) and a contemporary monologue. A performance resumé and a headshot also needed.
