We are currently searching for talents to play in a short film- "The Hard Land of Wonder"
It's a drama set in a Polish countryside during WWII. It depicts a relationship between two sisters, as well as dilemmas imposed by cruel realities of the Second World War.
The shooting will start in August, and will take place in Sydney.
Unfortunately this is unpaid role. We can provide lunch/ dinner on the set.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Basia- 70 years old
This is a non speaking role, however Basia is a key character in the film. Entire story revolves around her going back in time, and revisiting events that led to separation from her older sister- Helena. 70 year old Basia appears at the beginning and at the very end of the film.

Basia- 13 to 16 years old
Basia is a key character in the story. She is a teenage girl, who is confronted with realities and unjust conventions imposed by the war. Her older sister- Helena, is a Polish nurse, who due to unfortunate events has to chose between death or escape with a Soviet soldier she has fallen in love with. Young Basia is made to witness Helena's rejection by her own family, and condemned to live a life of regret that she never reconnected with her sister.
Eastern European look is highly preferable.

Helena
This is a non speaking role.
Helena is one of the key characters in the story. She is a Polish nurse, working in the field hospital under German occupation. She falls in love with the Soviet soldier- Alexei, and when the Red Army invades, she chooses to run away with him in order to save her own life.
