Through performing with the London Chorus, I have extended my vocal skills and the ability to make my voice blend and contrast with others. We have taken on some quite challenging pieces which continually challenged my sight reading skills and required regular contact with the music and practice. The highlight of my time with the London Chorus was singing with Jose Carreras in the Royal Albert Hall and being one of the choirs to perform as part of Mahler’s 8th Symphony of a Thousand.
During university, I tried various styles and found my voice was quite adaptable and could take on many different vocal qualities, therefore is suited to both choral music and musical theatre and many varying styles of song. I have performed classically many times and my voice is naturally soprano, but has quite a low range as well (G-E below Middle C), and lyrically, my belt range is to B/C above Middle C.
